Catering has moved from a side channel to a full-blown strategy. In the U.S., the catering market was valued at roughly $75 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow steadily over the next decade. Corporate demand remains a key driver; roughly eight in 10 companies order business catering at least monthly, and guests continue to expect seamless, tech-enabled ordering paired with reliable, hospitality-led execution. Demand from corporate and social clients continues to rise, and operators are investing in better menus, logistics and technology to capture it.
As dollars shift toward planned group occasions and B2B spend, restaurant concepts marrying hospitality with disciplined execution will come out on top. Making that transformation, however, requires an individual to own a brand's catering program. These leaders must work with everyone from CEOs to hourly employees to not only create buy-in but also to execute orders. Most of them are also the people dropping off samples at local schools, organizing community events and serving as the face of the catering program.
