Acai bowl food truck serves up fare in Research Triangle

The Research Triangle, in North Carolina, is now home to its first acai bowl food truck.

The Buoy Bowls offers acai bowls and smoothie bowls as well as pitaya bowls, according to a Technician report.

Owner Derek Sharpe told the news outlet he opened the truck after realizing there was no acai bowl truck serving the Triangle area. He named the truck after his dog, Buoy.

After one year in operation he launched a second truck and is in process of building the brand's fifth food truck, according to the report.
