One of the newest food trucks in Alabama is serving up authentic Kenyan cuisine.
The Birmingham-based Sahani food truck, which launched in the spring of 2021, also reflects a dream come true for owner David Kimani, according to an Alabama News Center report.
The name is Swahili for the word "plate" and the menu includes samosas, Nyama Choma as well as more mainstream options like hamburgers and quesadillas.
"It started as a dream and turned into reality," the 24-year-old Kimani told the news outlet. "Being a young entrepreneur, it is great to feel the support not only from other local food truck owners, but also from people in the community."
