Alabama town considers food truck ordinance

October 30, 2017

A Florence, Alabama city council committee has drafted an ordinance that, if adopted, would allow food trucks to operate in the city, according to the Times Daily.

The planning and building committee voted to recommend it to the full council.

Dick Jordan, city council president, said food trucks will not be allowed to operate within 120 feet of a restaurant. The ordinance, as written, requires food truck operators to obtain a city business license after being certified by the state health department. They would have to operate on public rights of way, and away from residential areas.
