Albuquerque food truck enterprise opens physical storefront

A food truck company in Albuquerque, New Mexico has expanded its footprint with a physical location.

Pop Pop's Italian Ice, which runs five trucks, moved into a store location at 6300 San Mateo NE in September, according to an Albuquerque Journal report.

While many foodservice operations took a hit during COVID-19, the food truck company found growth.

"Our business doubled," Pop Pop's co-owner Ty Martinelli told the news outlet. "... I think because we started out as trucks, and everyone just wanted to be out of parks and out of their house."

Martinelli and partners Dominic Maestas and Ric Martinelli, who bought Pop Pop's Italian Ice in 2018, aim to launch two more food trucks as well.
