Panther Park in Amory, Mississippi recently began hosting Food Truck Tuesdays on Aug. 6. This is part of a 90-day testing period with the city and food truck owners to operate in the space from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to a report by Monroe Journal.

Mayor Corey Glenn said that Panther Park was an ideal location due to its distance from other local restaurants. Each food truck operator will only be able to sell food there for no more than three Tuesdays a month.

"It's very similar to our neighboring municipalities. We feel good about the ordinance and feel good about providing additional food choices and a new quality of life activity," Glenn said in the report. "There are brands not in our town now people like, and this gives them an opportunity for them to come in and see."

After the end of the 90-day period, the mayor and alderman will look at feedback.

"If enough people are in support of it, we should be able to move forward to be progressive and allow food trucks to keep coming in like our neighboring municipalities do," Glenn said.
