A unique partnership in Tucson, Arizona is aimed at helping local food trucks survive the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which is making it hard to stay in business given business closures and stay-at-home mandates.
The Medella Vina Ranch and the Southern Arizona Animal Food Bank are holding 'roundup' events every Friday to raise money for local animal care and also provide food trucks a venue to do business, according to a Tucson.com report.
The food bank will list participating trucks each week on its site, as well as the ranch's Facebook page, and customers can order food from either site. When the order is ready the customer gets a text to drive to the food truck and pick up the food.
Six trucks participated in the first event last week, according to the report.
