Soldiers at six Army bases will be served by food trucks under a program to help soldiers at remote locations with limited access to food, according to an Army Times report.
The trucks will be named "The Culinary Outpost," and will serve soldiers at Fort Drum, New York; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Hood, Texas; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Fort Riley, Kansas; and Fort Bliss, Texas.
Each truck will include appliances such as air fryers, panini presses and digital touchscreen menus to allow soldiers to customize orders.
The trucks will serve 200 to 300 troops per meal, three times a day.
Soldiers will pay using cash or their common access card and have three to five meal options. The prices will be comparable to rates at dining facilities.
