Austin, Texas food truck to close to due competition

Jan. 12, 2018

The Midway Food Park in Austin, Texas, will close at the end of January due to the saturation of food trucks in the area, according to park owner Sarah Hannon, who has been running the park for five years, KXAN-TV reported.

Hannon said food trucks are popping up on every corner downtown, and only three food trucks remain in her park, which are not bringing in enough revenue to keep it open.

She plans to open the space as an outdoor event venue in March. The space will be designed for musical events and it will include food truck hookups so trucks can use the space during events.
