Award winning Denver food truck gets restaurant

Maiz, a gorditas food truck based in Denver, is now getting a physical restaurant called Maiz and Good Vibes Café. The food truck had won the 2023 Best of Denver award from Westword, according to a report by Westword.

Owner Maria Rangel first began her food truck journey in 2021 after cashing out her 401K to enroll in a business course. She said the restaurant will serve more than just gorditas.

"We will serve hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders and fries. My main goal is to make food accessible to everybody again. It's gotten so crazy and I just want to make food accessible. I'm hoping to just start making a change in things, like offering American comfort food, Italian foods. Good Vibes Cafe will be a whole plethora of things," Rangel said.
