Leaders in Bibb County, Georgia will discuss changes to food truck rules in Macon. In particular, they will address issues such as unauthorized use of rights-of-way, blocking sidewalks and parking areas, improper disposal of food waste, trespassing and traffic congestion, according to a report by WGXA.

Mayor Lester Miller has proposed that food trucks must have a mobile food service unit permit from the Georgia Department of Health and out-of-county trucks must get an authorization to operate certificate from the Macon-Bibb County Health Department. In addition, food trucks must receive permission to operate on private property and they must have permission from the mayor to operate on public property.

Lastly, food trucks must not operate after 10 p.m. or before 7 a.m. without permission from the mayor. Violations of these standards may results in citations or fines starting at $100.
