Boise State University plans to revamp an area into the Riverfront Plaza, which will feature spaces for food trucks, a patio for the Albertsons Library and more, according to a report by Boise Dev.
"Design efforts will extend through the winter months, and we're expecting construction activity during the summer of 2026," Boise State Associate VP for campus operations Drew Alexander said in the report. "Project goals include a mix of hardscaped and planted areas, additional bike parking, a new north entrance to the Albertsons Library, and locations for occasional food service during peak seasons. In the meantime, the space will remain fenced off."
The university wants to provide access to the Boise River and a "park-like plaza for university and community users," according to the report.
