California city welcoming food trucks with open arms

Now that the city of Hanford, California has food truck regulations all set, it's putting out a big invite to food truck operators.

The city and local chamber of commerce are launching a "food truck takeover" for City Park as of April, according to a Sentinel report.

The park will be home to a weekly food truck lunch event every Tuesday through October and a food truck night on the first Saturday of each month through September. The latter will include live entertainment, games and a beer and wine garden, according to the report.

Chamber and city leaders hope the food truck events will boost shopping at local businesses and encourage residents to enjoy the park area.
