Santa Cruz County, California is hoping to make an underused park at the Benchlands at San Lorenzo Park into a food truck park. The county plans to launch a pilot program to rotate four or five food trucks at the park, according to a KSBW-TV report.
The county hopes to duplicate the success that Redding, California has had for the past year with Carnegie Park. The park was not a popular public space, was used for illegal activity and was fenced off until the city, with the help of a local businessman, turned it into a food truck court, the report noted.
