Casper, Wyoming considers food truck rules amidst restaurants' objections

February 13, 2018

Casper, Wyoming, officials will continue offering permits to food trucks as it considers new regulations. One restaurant owner recently asked the city council to stop granting parking permits to food trucks in the meantime, according to the Casper Star Tribune.

Jacquie Anderson, the owner of Jacquie's Bistro, told the council that its decision to continue issuing permits prior to completing the new regulations has allowed "chaos" to continue downtown.

Some brick-and-mortar establishments claim the trucks take away parking spaces from potential customers. Some restaurants, however, say the trucks offer a fun dining option and bring more people downtown.

Council will continue discussing the issue at its Tuesday work session.
