Elmhurst, Illinois, lawmakers are considering allowing food trucks on a regular basis instead of only for special events, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Eileen Franz, city planner told lawmakers Monday that existing regulations are intended for ice cream trucks and trucks visiting construction sites.
Alderman Mark Mulliner, a member of the development, planning and zoning committee, said the city could consider allowing trucks for one-time events or for existing businesses.
