Lawmakers in Barrington, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, are considering legislation to regulate food trucks in response to requests from businesses that want food trucks on their premises, according to a Daily Herald report.
The village currently allows ice cream vendors, but requires food trucks to be associated with a special event or be part of a permanent food establishment.
One option being considered would allow food trucks to be adjacent to certain taverns. Another option would be to allow food trucks in private parking lots with the property owner's permission.
