Community supports food trucks on Florida's Legacy Trail

Food trucks may soon be permitted on Sarasota, Florida's Legacy Trail, as support for such a measure was expressed during community workshops, according to a Herald Tribune report.

Food trucks are currently allowed on most commercial areas of unincorporated Sarasota County and on public property providing they are 50 feet from residential areas.

Roger Normand, vice president of Friends of the Legacy Trail, said allowing food trucks would be a "huge opportunity" as there are few amenities on the trail.
