Competing food truck events planned in Utica, New York

Competing food truck events are planned for Tuesday in Utica, New York, according to The Observer-Dispatch.

The weekly "What the Truck" food truck event sponsored by Roser Communications will take place from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Canal Park at 215 Leland Ave.

The Utica Food Truck Association, meanwhile, is starting a weekly food truck rodeo beginning at 4 p.m. every Tuesday at the Parkway Center at 220 Memorial Parkway.

The association said on its Facebook page that its interests and the interests of Roser Communications were no longer aligned. The group also thanked the city for allowing them to hold their event at the Parkway.

Ken Roser, owner of Roser Communications, said six of his event's 16 food trucks pulled out, but he still expects 13 to participate.
