The city of New Haven, Connecticut is mulling a food vendor licensing program that could allow city-based food trucks to do business in other municipalities under their New Haven license fee.

The program, according to a New Haven Register report, would give food truck operators greater flexibility as it wouldn't restrict trucks to one city location.

"That's a good idea!" Phi Phram, owner of the Oriental Food cart, told the news outlet. "I can't move even to another location within the city," he said.

The program "is one of the first of its kind in the nation," Middletown Health Department Director Kevin Elak told the Middletown Press.
