The city of Corpus Christi, Texas is developing a pilot program to provide food trucks more opportunities to operate in the city, according to KRISTV.com.
Food trucks will be able to sell on streets and sidewalks, which isn't allowed under the existing ordinance.
Food trucks will be able to park at City Hall, Carancahua Street and Leopard, Shoreline Boulevard adjacent to the American Bank building, Shoreline Boulevard south of the intersection of Peoples St. T-Head, and Carancahua Street south of the intersection at Buffalo Street.
If the city council approves a second reading of ordinance, it is set to take effect July 19.
The city also plans to have an educational course for food truck operators focusing on health regulations, traffic engineering safety and updates on city ordinances. Truck owners would receive a sticker showing they took the course.
