Daytona Beach, Florida hopes to launch food truck rally

August 17, 2017

Daytona Beach, Florida officials hope to host a food truck rally on Main Street, complete with 40 trucks, music and a playground, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Deputy City Manager Jim Morris told city commissioners Wednesday night the city met with the event promoter and is still working out an agreement.

City officials hope to start advertising the event on social media soon to create interest for the one-day event that will last six weeks if approved. Morris said Ocean Center officials are working on logistics.

City commissioners have discussed having a regular food truck event in Daytona Beach. At present, food trucks are only allowed for short periods during special events like festivals in parks and Bike Week on Main Street.
