This week marks the debut of the Colorado Boulevard Food Truck Hub in Denver, Colorado.

The weekly event, at the Park Hill Golf Course, takes place every Thursday and has a philanthropic strategy. The event will promote stopping youth gun violence, according to a DenverChannel.com report, with 10% of sales donated to the Mending Roots Forest Project.

The organizer, Mile High Festivals, also plans to also team up with community partners to provide meal vouchers to low-income families.

"We want to address the immediate needs that we have in this community with a lack of food choices. We are also generating proceeds from the efforts that we're doing here to support our Mending Roots Forest Program, which is an effort to combat youth gun violence," Norman Harris, president of Mile High Festivals, told the news outlet.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
