FastCasual now accepting nominations for Excellence in Food Safety award

As part of the 2021 FastCasual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list, FastCasual and Steritech, a provider of food safety assessments, will honor one brand with the third annual Excellence in Food Safety Award.

The Excellence in Food Safety Award recognizes fast casual brands that demonstrate a strong commitment to food safety through food safety programs and practices that lend to achieving excellence in food safety, according to Cherryh Cansler, editor of FastCasual.

"In a year where safety has been front and center, it's been important to keep good food safety practices top of mind while also implementing a number of new safety solutions to combat the COVID-19 pandemic," she said.

After reviewing nominations, judges may choose to conduct phone interviews with a short list of semi-finalists. Judges will then choose the brand that they think has placed continuous focus on protecting its customers from food safety issues and is working to achieve food safety excellence throughout its organization.

The FastCasual editorial board and Steritech will announce the winner during the Top 100 Movers & Shakers awards banquet in Chicago in May 2021.

Entries will be accepted until midnight ET on Feb. 3, 2021.

"Judges love to read about specific ways brands are putting emphasis on food safety, so the more details that you can provide, the better," Cansler said.
