Florida city drafts food truck regulations

April 30, 2018

The city of Largo, Florida, is drafting regulations to allow food trucks to operate year-round as opposed to requiring temporary permits, according to the Tampa Bay Times. City officials said they hope to attract more of the food trucks that have come to festivals and park outside breweries throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Under the proposed rules, the city would review the site where a food truck would park to make sure that it doesn't block a fire lane or exit, community development director Carol Stricklin said in the report. The operator would also have to provide proof of a fire safety inspection, as required by the state.
