Florida coffee truck employs autistic adults

July 30, 2018

A coffee house that employs autistic adults will be expanding its services in the form of a food truck called the Bean Mobile, according to the Tampa Bay Times. The coffee shop, Artistas Café, has operated for seven years in a Mercedes Benz dealership on North Dale Mabry Highway. The truck will only serve at events where its presence is requested.

Vicky Westra, cafe founder and head of the advocacy nonprofit Autism Shifts, said the food truck will help educate society that autistic adults are employable.

The Bean Mobile, which will serve fruit smoothies, coffee and snacks, can be contacted through artistascafe.com and will be available beginning in early August.
