Food trucks in Hernando County, Florida are now required to have written permission to operate on private property and are not permitted on rights of way or on vacant property under new rules adopted by the county commissioners, according to a Tampa Bay Times report.
Chris Linsbeck, county zoning administrator, said one food truck is allowed per business parking lot.
Commissioner Steve Champion said he was concerned that food trucks compete with brick-and-mortar restaurants and were making the county look sloppy.
