The planning commission in Pasco County, Florida, has approved a new law allowing food truck operators to serve food without a local permit, since the state already controls safety and cleanliness standards, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The proposed plan, which applies to produce stands as well, allows food trucks to serve at one site for up to 90 days in a calendar year. Food truck owners will need a permit to operate for more than 90 days.
Craft breweries in the county have been obtaining special event permits in order to host food trucks.
The county commissioners must vote on the ordinance to make it official.
