Florida restaurant debuts food truck

The Blue Giraffe restaurant, in Florida's Sanibel and Captiva Islands area, has launched a food truck while its brick-and-mortar location is undergoing restoration.

The truck, which is located at the restaurant's location in Periwinkle Place Shops, is operating with a limited menu and limited time frame, according to a Sanibel Captiva report.

"The Periwinkle Place location was totally destroyed and must be rebuilt from scratch," co-owner Bill Letrendre told the news outlet. "The Beachview Estates location was not destroyed and will require much less repair to reopen … If all goes well the goal is to be ready by Christmas 2023 for both locations."

The food truck is operating Monday through Saturday for breakfast and lunch.
