Melbourne, Florida council members recently supported adjusting regulations to allow a truck operated by Intracoastal Brewing Co., and a discussion on food truck rules will likely occur Nov. 14, according to Florida Today.
At Intracoastal Brewing Co., customers order food inside the beer-tasting room. Food truck personnel outside cook meals and bring them inside.
Kyle Smyth, Intracoastal Brewing Co. co-founder, told the council the city is lacking restaurant options for the downtown Eau Gallie area. The food truck is a way to provide options since he doesn’t have the building space to put in a full brick-and-mortar kitchen.
Under the existing ordinance, street vendors can sell food on any street, public right-of-way or other property only if the city issues a special activity permit.
