Food truck allegedly caused illness outbreak

County officials in Kirkland, Washington suspect a food truck called Tacos El Guero was behind an outbreak of gastrointestinal illnesses in the area. A total of 34 people reported gastrointestinal symptoms after eating food from the truck at an event on Sept. 14, according toa a report by Food Safety News.

Health inspectors visited the food truck on Sept. 18 and saw several violations such as lack of proper refrigeration, improper heating and cooling and lack of managerial oversight. Officials closed the food truck until it can implement safe food handling procedures.
