Food truck court planned for California town

September 19, 2018

A food truck court is scheduled to open Sept. 27 at Carnegie Park in downtown Redding, California, according to the Record Searchlight. Meanwhile, the city council is still finalizing a contract with the court's operator, Todd Franklin.

Franklin has an agreement with the city to run the food truck court through July 1, 2020, however, a recently formed business association involving a candidate who is running for a seat on the city council requires an amendment to the contract.

Franklin told the council on Tuesday that he has formed a partnership with husband and wife Chris and Erin Resner, the local Dutch Bros. operators, to help with staffing for the food court.

Erin Resner is currently running for a seat on the city council. If she wins the November election, the food court would have to discontinue operations when the current contract expires unless the Resners exit the project, according to City Manager Barry Tippin.
