Food truck event to support Charleston nonprofits

February 4, 2019

A monthly food truck event aims to help nonprofit organizations in Charleston, South Carolina.

Food Trucks for Hope kicks off March 10 at Carnes Crossroads with 10 to 15 trucks, as well as live music and kids' activities, according to a Summerville Journal Scene report.

The event is the brainchild of Allen and Rachel Carpenter, who operate the Holy City Cupcakes Food Truck.

"We look at this effort as a three-strand cord," Rachel Carpenter told the Journal Scene. "It supports local businesses and brings community together, all while raising awareness and support for local charities."

The March event will benefit My Sister’s House of Charleston, a nonprofit assisting domestic assault victims and their children.
