The Eugene Mission's second annual Food Truck Festival will take place at the Lane Events Center in Eugene, Oregon this Saturday, with 50 food trucks, according to The Register-Guard. The event raises money for the homeless.
The festival, hosted by Eugene-based SELCO Community Credit Union, lasts from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Trucks will donate 15 percent of their proceeds to the Eugene Mission, which serves the homeless.
There is a $2 admission fee; children younger under 5 attend for free. Last year, the event did not charge admission.
The event has doubled in size this year. It began last year with 25 food trucks in the parking lot behind Valley River Center in Eugene.
Caitlin Vargas, event coordinator, said her team decided to add more trucks in response to social media complaints about the previous year's festival. Many attendees said the lines were too long and trucks were running out of food.
