In the year-and-a-half since Frederick, Maryland, passed its food truck ordinance, food truck operations in the city have expanded significantly.
Brett Novick, owner of Boxcar Burgers in Brunswick, estimated that the number of food trucks has has more than doubled, according to the Frederick News-Post. He himself added a second truck in June to meet demand. Mayta's Peruvian Cuisine, a brick-and-mortar restaurant, launched a food truck three months after the new ordinance was passed, and other vendors have joined the charge.
In June of 2017, the city passed a law that allowed mobile food vendors to serve at craft breweries, wineries and distilleries, the report said.
