Food truck operators are raising concerns surrounding a proposed amendment to the Cathedral City, California's Food Truck Pilot Program. This amendment, if passed would prohibit trucks from operating withing 500 feet of any restaurant or bar unless they have written permission to do so, according to a report by KESQ.
This requirement would also apply to food trucks that are within private property and pay rent, taxes and fees. Food truck operators argue that this rule would majorly impact working-class entrepreneurs in the industry. They are calling for the amendment to be dropped entirely or changed to within 100 feet.
