Ferndale, Michigan will have a permanent food truck park with the planned opening on July 7 of the Detroit Fleat Food Truck Park & Boozery. The park will combine outdoor food trailers with a permanent kitchen, according to The Detroit Free Press.
The park marks the first permanent food truck venue in metro Detroit, and is based on similar destinations in Austin, Texas; Portland, Oregon; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Traverse City, Michigan.
Hours will be from 11 a.m. to midnight on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
The park is an effort to revitalize a moribund part of Ferndale.
The site will host three trailers in its first season: Mac Shack; Pita Post; and Delectabowl, all of which are satellite versions of existing food trucks that travel throughout Detroit.
Another part of the park will host rotating food trucks Thursday through Saturday.
