Food truck park coming to Waterville, Maine

Couple Zhanpo Lu and Linjie Gu are seeking approval from Waterville, Maine to open a food truck park. They will serve traditional Chinese food alongside up to 10 other food trucks, according to a report by Centralmaine.com.

Lu hopes to open the court by September, which will feature tables and tents, a playground for children and parking.

"I love all the schools, I love the people here," Lu said. "My mother says, 'People say hello to me here.' In Waterville, everybody says hello. I want to do something great for others, and for the city."

The spot will be in a contract zoned district which will allow eating establishments that close by 8 p.m. The proposal will go before the planning board first on June 25.
