Food truck park opens in College Station, Texas

Wayside Food Park, located next to train tracks at the corner of Wellborn and University in College Station, Texas, is now home to a number of food trucks, including DBQ Barbeque, Fire Truck Crepes and Bacongate, with more to come, according to The Battalion, a student newspaper at Texas A&M University.

Derek Barre, owner of DBQ Barbeque and Catering, convinced the city to change an ordinance to make food trucks more accessible to customers. College Station had required food trucks to move around from place to place.

The park opened on Dec. 6 by Barre and partners Matt Abegglen and Alex Jester.
