Food trucks and brick-and-mortar restaurants in Columbia, Missouri are arguing over the amount of downtown parking food trucks will be allowed, according to KOMU 8. The Downtown Columbia Improvement District is expected to make a decision on allowing more downtown parking spaces for food trucks.
Food truck owners are currently allowed three parking spaces near Ninth, Walnut and Cherry Streets. Food truck owners have been working with the Downtown Columbia Improvement District to increase the allotted space by three or four parking spots.
The district will provide a recommendation after hearing from both food trucks and brick-and-mortar restaurants.
The Columbia city council will make the final decision after the improvement district makes a recommendation.
