Food trucks expanding in Virginia’s Historic Triangle

January 15, 2019

The food truck industry is growing in Virginia's Historic Triangle, according to a report in the Virginia Gazette. The three points of the Historic Triangle include Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown.

Matt Sileno, who opened the Matchsticks BBQ Co. food truck with his wife, Nicole, last April, welcomes new food trucks, saying more food trucks will enhance the local food truck scene.

Carmen Blair, owner of Carmen's Jamaican Authentic Cuisine, said she opened her truck after friends and co-workers offered to pay her to cook curried and jerk chicken for them.

As more trucks have opened, breweries in York County and James City are hosting the trucks to complement their craft beers.

Williamsburg, Virginia, recently approved new regulations to allow more freedom for food trucks in response to their rising growth.
