Foodservice associations urge feds to accelerate COVID test kit availability

The National Restaurant Association, the National Automatic Merchandising Association and the International Bottled Water Association have called on President Biden and the National Governors Association to accelerate efforts to improve COVID test kit availability and recognize the essential roles of the respective associations' industries to the nation's critical infrastructure, according to a joint letter on behalf of the associations.

Doing so would prevent interruption to critical goods and services at a time when Americans need them the most and would help to protect those workers who remain on the front lines of the pandemic, according to the letter.

The associations were among several associations that signed a letter drafted by the Critical Infrastructure Supply Chain Council to the president and the governors' association.
