Food trucks in Franklin County, Virginia will have to obtain a license to operate in the county. They will also have to obtain a decal from the county that it is certified to operate, according to a report by The Franklin News Post.
Supervisors voted unanimously to approve this tax.
"I think this is something that is long overdue," Margaret Torrence, Franklin County's commissioner of the revenue, said in the report. "We have a lot of food trucks at events that we are unable to collect the meals taxes. That is a lot of revenue leaving the county."
