Qing Chen received preliminary approval for a food truck park from the Georgetown City Council. He required a special use permit to create the park, which would feature six vendors, according to a report by Community Impact.

In order to move forward, the park will need a manager, utility connections, restrooms with potable water and compliance with codes.

City planner Preston Gunn said the city asked for a restroom with electricity and potable water to avoid having a portable toilet on site.

"A simple porta-potty is a little bit of an eyesore, [and] would be more typical of a construction site," Gunn said in the report. "By adding that condition, they're hoping for a nicer restroom that's locked."
