Georgia town approves food truck licensing law

March 10, 2019

Lawmakers in Springfield, Georgia, passed a law to license food trucks in the hope that it will help bring business to the city's downtown and give residents more food choices, according to WTOC-TV.

Under the ordinance, a temporary food service license is $25 while an annual license is $150. Applicants also require approval by either the Effingham County Department of Public Health or the Department of Agriculture.

Erin Phillips, the city’s community development director, said there are a lot of people working in the city but not enough food options for lunch and weekend eating.
