Georgia town considers food truck ordinance

March 26, 2019

Lawmakers in Marietta, Georgia, will consider a food truck ordinance Tuesday, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. The topic came up last August, when the council considered two food truck requests.

The first query came from Glover Park Brewery to allow food trucks to sell on their property later than the operational hours prescribed by code, according to Alvin Huff, economic development project manager. The second query came from the owner of 50 Powers Ferry Rd. (Studio Movie Grill Location) to host food truck events. In both cases, council authorized the operation of food trucks until 10 p.m.

The council members decided they did not want to approve food trucks on a one-by-one basis and asked the city to look into a city food truck ordinance.
