Gluten free food truck Backyard Bakery opens in Maine

The Backyard Bakery food truck recently opened in Dixmont, Maine. The truck offers gluten free and vegan items for anyone with dietary or health restrictions, according to a report by WAVI.TV

Owner Mary Alice Gould has celiac disease along with her children. As a result, she often found it difficult to find food that wouldn't make her sick while eating out. She opened the truck to help people with these dietary restraints.

"One of the things that kept me motivated is the look on their faces when they would walk into a restaurant and saw all the beautiful cakes and pies and whoopie pies and cookies and cream rolls. And when they're like, oh, what can I have? And unfortunately, they couldn't have anything. Those families come up here and they're like, what can we have? And I can say just about anything on this wagon," Gould said in the report.

One such item offered is the C-dog, a hot dog made from a carrot.
