Creole Bites, a Haitian food truck, will open in Springfield, Ohio. This is a testament to the growing Haitian community in the city, according to a report by 91.3 WYSO.
The food truck will serve entrees like braised and fried pork and tassot, which is either marinated beef or goat served with rice and beans and a vegetable stew called legim.
The food truck was created by a Haitian community group.
"Every time we have a chance to bring a part of our culture to share it, that for us is a way to communicate," Miguelito Jerome, a member of the community group, said in the report. "They at least have an idea what to put behind the Haitian name. You know, the food, the culture, the way we dance, the way they eat, the way we talk."
