Health officials close Pittsburgh food truck over health violations

March 12, 2019

The Allegheny Health Department closed the La Palapa food over health code violations, according to the Pittsburgh Patch. Inspectors found the hand sink had no running water, which they said has been an ongoing issue with the truck.

Inspectors also found shredded cheese in an igloo chest at 45 degrees in the food truck, which is four degrees above the maximum temperature allowed. The truck did not have sufficient cold and hot holding units for the food on the menu. The closure doesn't affect the company’s sit-down restaurant.
