July 1, 2019

Hoodline, a website that uses machine learning to develop local insights on more than 40 U.S. cities, recently crunched the numbers to find the best affordable food trucks in Seattle, according to an MSN.com report

Tacos El Asadero, located at 3517 Rainier Ave. South in Columbia City, topped the list as the highest rated inexpensive food truck, grabbing 4.5 stars out of 310 Yelp reviews. The truck serves tacos, ceviche, carne asada fries, tortas and more.

Loxicha Authentic Oaxaca Cuisine, at 11552 15th Ave. NE, came in second with five stars out of 78 Yelp reviews. The truck serves street tacos, tamales, burritos and even chapulines — grasshoppers that taste like salt and vinegar chips.

The Seattle Bakery Food Truck came in at number three with five stars out of 41 Yelp reviews, featuring a separate menu for dogs. The dog menu includes doughnuts, turkey nuggets, "pupcakes," chicken foot and more. Treats for humans include pastries, coffee and tea. The truck can be found at Magnuson, an off-leash park at 7400 Sand Point Way NE, and at the Treat Bar inside Dogwood Play Park, at 12568 33rd Ave NE.

Lula Salads, which offers salads made from scratch, at 4501 Interlake Ave. North, Suite 7 in Wallingford, landed at number four with five stars out of 36 Yelp reviews. The truck serves chopped salad, harvest salad, Mediterranean salad, avocado toast and more.
